The Palatinate is a frequently written page in the history of Europe: Kelts and Romans, the Staufer, Liselotte of Palatinate and finally Helmut Kohl, to name a few, were here. Many castles and towns like Worms, Speyer, Heidelberg or Mannheim with old and scenic buildings\u00a0 await your visit. Mainly in southern Palatinate, but also close by Ruppertsberg, you find castles or ruins.<\/p>\n

Some recommendations for viewings and trips:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Speyer<\/a> with cathedral and jewish cemetery<\/a>
\n\u2022 Worms<\/a> with its cathedral. Worms and Speyer are part of the UNESCO SchUM<\/a>.
\n\u2022 Mannheim<\/a> with the Reiss Engelhorn Museum<\/a> or the recent \u2019Bundesgartenschau\u2019<\/a>
\n\u2022 Heidelberg<\/a> with its historic center<\/p>\n

– Museum of Wine Culture<\/a>
\nOpening hours in the season: Fri. 15.00 – 18.00, Sat. 14.00 – 17.00 – Deidesheim, Am Marktplatz 9 (historic town hall)<\/p>\n

– Villa Rustica<\/a>
\na Roman villa, Wachenheim, on the B271, east of Wachenheim<\/p>\n

– Bad Duerkheim socalled Saline<\/a>
\nimpressive building, beneficial for respiratory diseases
\non the northern edge of Bad Duerkheim<\/p>\n

– Neustadt Railway Museum<\/a>
\nin the immediate vicinity of Neustadt main railway station<\/p>\n

– Old half-timbered houses & buildings near the Neustadt market square<\/a>
\nin Metzgergasse there is a very old half-timbered house from 1384 and the Steinh\u00e4user Hof from the 13th century.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of events in Palatinate, not only wine festivals<\/a> Moreover, you are offered concerts, galleries, museums and theaters. You find a good survey here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
